HISTORY

CASURECO IV was born through the initiative of the former Governor of Camarines Sur, Hon. Felix A. Fuentebella together with the National Electrification Administration (NEA) through its first Administrator, General Pedro G. Dumol, to hasten electrification of the third district and now fourth district of Camarines Sur. It started operation on July 9, 1977, with the inauguration of its 5 MVA Sub Station in municipality of Lagonoy, Camarines Sur.

CASURECO IV was registered with the National Electrification Administration (NEA) and was incorporated as a non-stock, non-profit membership on February 18, 1977 under Registration No. 81 pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 269 as amended by Presidential Decree No. 1645 on October 8, 1979 and Republic Act No. 10531 which was passed into law on May 7, 2013. The Cooperative was authorized to operate for a period of Fifty (50) years under Certificate of Franchise No. 032 dated June 28, 1979.

CASURECO IV is still the same when it started, a not-for-profit cooperative, and it still costs 5.00 to become a Member-Consumer-Owner as it did back then. We abide with cooperative principle similar to other electric cooperatives all over the world and that is to power communities and improve the quality of lives of our MCOs.
